Frequently Asked Questions

  • 1. Once you let me know you’re interested, I’ll send you a link to schedule an initial free consultation. Or, if you prefer, we can discuss over email.

    2. We’ll chat about your business and goals for your website. I’ll walk you through my design process in more detail and we’ll decide which website design package is best for you. We’ll also determine if you need any add-on services.

    3. After the call, I’ll send over your contract and invoice. A 50% deposit is required to book the time in my calendar.

    4. Once the deposit has been paid, ’ll send over onboarding info and homework to develop the content for your website. Time to dive in!

    5. Once you’ve sent me the completed homework and any additional required content, I’ll design the site with your needs and business goals in mind. I’ll check in with you throughout the process to make sure you like it and to discuss any functional / aesthetic decisions you wish you make.

    6. We’ll do one final call to make sure the website is ready to launch. I’ll also walk you through how to make basic edits and updates yourself (if you wish to learn this).

    7. Launch time! Congrats on your new website!

    8. Upon launch, you’ll receive two weeks of support to handle any technical issues that arise.

  • I’ll send you a detailed questionnaire and/or book a call with you to determine what information we need. For a basic website, we’ll need things like your business location, hours, policies, about, testimonials, and contact information. Photos may be helpful, depending on the quality and composure of the photo. I can also find royalty-free stock images if you do not have adequate photos.

If you already have a domain registered, you’ll need to give me this information as well.

Don’t worry, I am here to walk you through the entire process step-by-step!

  • For a basic website with up to 5 pages, turnaround is as quick as 2-4 weeks.

For an e-commerce website, turnaround is as quick as 6-8 weeks.

What does “as quick as” mean? The actual time depends on how quickly you respond to my initial website questionnaires and any other requests as we work through the design process.

  • Just before launch, we’ll have a 1-hour video tutorial call so I can walk you through how to make basic edits and updates to your site.

Once your site is live, you’ll receive two weeks of support to handle any technical issues that arise. Beyond that, you’ll be responsible for handling any updates or technical issues with your website, unless we make a retainer agreement or a la carte (one-time) agreement to handle specific concerns.

  • The website maintenance retainer is an option in which I retain a specific number of hours each month to spend updating your website. Unused hours do not rollover into the next month. In order to guarantee this time in my calendar, you’ll pay monthly regardless of whether those hours are used. This ensures that I’ll be able to make quick changes in case your business information changes, you decide to have a sale or make other announcements, glitches arise, etc.

It can also be used to look at traffic and SEO data. I’m happy to use this time brainstorming with you about how and why website traffic trends emerge, what keywords people are using to find your site, etc.

Unlike other website design companies, the monthly retainer time can also be used to discuss your branding and marketing approach or website content. This is a great deal for consultant level services — I want your business to thrive!

The website maintenance monthly retainer option requires a 3-month minimum commitment.
